The latest version of Military Message Handling Systems, which adhere to STANAG 4406 Ed.2, the standard designated and approved by member countries of NATO, are now available. While MMHS may seem similar to commercial email, there are significant distinctions. Indeed, defense organizations require a formal and secure messaging

system that guarantees :

• Interoperability among NATO nations;

• Confidentiality; • Integrity, non-repudiation of origin and assurance of delivery;

• Appropriate handling mechanisms for each message based on its precedence

and classification. Additionally,

the system enables message transfers to tactical networks, integrating naval, airborne, and army mobile radio units, in accordance with STANAG 4406, Annex E, and with significantly higher data speeds compared to ACP127-based systems.
